Interactive installation: Photogrammetry, point clouds, laser projections

An interactive installation exploring mycelium and its role as a communication network for fungi. Interacting with the installation evokes the experience of recalling a memory, where you are uncertain if it reflects reality or a dream. Featuring an original soundtrack composed by the author.

The operator uses a keyboard to move a virtual camera through a dreamlike 3D space, observing fungal spores that converge into strange organic objects before them. Laser projections produced by converting the audio signal reflect the complex shapes of mycelium networks and the electrical messages that travel across them.

I produced photogrammetry models of flora and fungi and used models obtained from online sources (licensed under CC Attribution and CC BY-NC 4.0: full credits listed below).
