RGB to Hz

RGB to Hz is a device which converts images into sound. Using custom programs built with Processing and Arduino IDE. The device scans an image uploaded by the user and calculates its average red, green and blue values. These values are then converted into voltage used to drive three Piezo buzzers and produce tones. Each colour channel is assigned its own Piezo buzzer meaning a unique sound is produced by each, representative of the average colour value.

The Piezo buzzers can be physically covered to mute and isolate notes, allowing the user to analyse the tone of a specific colour channel individually and play the device like an instrument.
